Thoughts on Thursday....

....so this Thursday has found me in a shabby chic kind of mood. I did a little bit of spring cleaning today and found a wonderful use for an old favorite...the coffee mug holder! I know...WHAT?!?!? but it's a wonderful idea and it brought to mind that wonderful song by Jack Johnson (love me some Jack Johnson!) The three R's...Reduce, Reuse & Recycle - so here goes my pitch to do just that! I happen to have a black wrought iron Longaberger coffee mug holder that I have not put to use for a very long time....my thought to find a new use for it -- a Shabby Chic Jewelry Tree....it's fabulous to display your necklaces, hoop earrings, watches, and rings! I put my watches in colorful organza bags and hung them from the string...very, very cute! If you have a wooden coffee mug holder...just paint it a pretty pastel color and when it is dry rub it with a piece of sand paper along the edges and down the sides...adorable I swear! Now all of your jewelry is fashionably displayed and easily accessible for Every Occasion! *Bonus idea...when you have cleaned out your jewelry box and arranged your jewelry on your new "tree" put your smaller earrings, extra backs or seasonal accessories in your jewelry box for safe keeping...organizing at it's best!! Happy Hanging! :-)

Thoughts on Thursday....

......So today I have some thoughts regarding tableware. When our schedules allow, I like to make dinner at night for my family. It is the time of the day when we all come together and "catch up". I also like to entertain for many or just a few.... I am somewhat obsessive when it comes to planning, even for a family dinner. I like to show my family and guests how much I think of them! One real find I would like to share is dishwashing detergent! Yes....it is important trust me! I Love Cascade Complete - Citrus Breeze. It works amazingly well, leaving your stemware spotless, your dishes shining and it lends a wonderful smell to your kitchen which is clearly an added bonus - right!! I find it helpful to set the table as soon as possible and arrange your serving dishes with the serving utensils. A little pre-planning can go a long way to making Every Occasion a stress free get together - even a weekday dinner with the family! Bon Appetit!
